Our goal is to ensure that you have a positive and seamless design experience for your project, resulting in approved plans for a durable, energy efficient and functional building.

Pre-design

When you contact us, we will arrange a time to discuss your project brief, including your needs, wants and site feasibility. We will also start collecting important information regarding your property, for planning purposes.

Concept Design

With established parameters, we develop a concept which aligns with your design brief. This is a design-lead and collaborative process, and will result in concept plans consisting of site and floor plans, and elevations.  

Developed Design

When we have reached agreement on a concept design, we develop the design to refine the project and ensure material selections and overall design align with any budget and construction constraints.

We provide developed site, floor and roof plans, elevations and cross sections, which can be used to obtain construction pricing estimates, and sent to consultants (engineers etc) when their input is required, as well as to obtain Resource Consent if applicable. 

Detailed Design

During this stage, any input from consultants is incorporated into our plans, and the design is completed to a level of detail at which construction contractors can accurately review the full scope of your project. The plans produced at this stage include construction details for all the components of your building, and is the drawing set required to be submitted as part of a building consent application.

Specifications & Building Consent Application

With design work completed, we compile specification documentation to accompany the architectural plans, and can submit a building consent application on your behalf. We are available to liaise with the Building Consent Authority and respond to RFIs, assisting with securing an approved building consent for your project. 

Terms and conditions:

Our fees are quoted on a per project basis, and are limited to design and drafting fees. 

Our fees do not include an allowance for any consultant fees or council fees, as these professionals and agencies set their own fees.

You will receive PDF copies of each completed stage of plans; CAD files remain the intellectual property of Honey Bear Homes.

Contract Drafting Services:

We will complete the requested drafting work for any of our services nationwide and for a fixed fee, on a per project basis, and can assist with any applicable RFIs upon request.

We maintain confidentiality, and are respectful of intellectual property.
